FROMM Chardonnay 2022
On the nose, the wine is open and expressive with notes of apple, pear and a touch of custard. There’s a genuine impression of a warm apple pie, fresh out of the oven here. This carries through on the palate, with the orchard fruit notes joined by a hint of just-ripe nectarine, subtle vanilla, and framed by an apple-skin phenolic grip and balanced by freshening acidity.

FROMM Chardonnay 2020
The grapes for this wine were sourced from two vineyards in the Brancott Valley, a blend of Clone 95 and Mendoza. Another classic FROMM Chardonnay, exhibiting tight structure yet fine texture; complex, multi-layered and mouthfilling with a terroir rather than fruit-focussed flavour profile. The nose is complex with subtly integrated stonefruit and citrus aromas, notes of hazelnut, hay and straw, some lees complexities and a minerality driven clean and persistent finish. A Chardonnay of substance and drive.

A complex and elegant bouquet, there’s a natural mineral quality that precedes the bouquet of fresh white fleshed fruits, apple and grapefruit and a fine leesy core. Mineral, floral and new. Delicious, fresh, salivating and ripe with flavours that mirror the bouquet. A wine of texture and minerality as much as it is fruit and flavour. Citrus and pith, apple and quince, white peach and flowers. There’s a whisper of spice; this is a wine of purity and finesse. Best drinking from mid to late 2023 through 2030.

23 Sep, 2022 – I like the matchstick notes here underneath grilled peaches and lemon curd on toast. Medium-bodied and creamy. Lovely freshness and excellent length. Supremely drinkable. From organically grown grapes. Drink now. Screw cap.
