FROMM Syrah 2019
Vibrant dark red with a purple hue. The nose is bright and inviting, exhibiting classic varietal aromas of cracked black pepper, a hint of clove and a gentle violet fragrance that adds to the overall appeal of this immediately accessible wine. There is fine linearity and elegance on the palate with intense ripe fruit, excellent structure and tannin support while retaining the generosity and complex flavor profile of the exceptional 2019 vintage.

Offering fabulous fruit purity and perfume, the bouquet shows Black Doris plum, blueberry, violet, mixed spice and hazelnut aromas. It’s equally impressive on the palate delivering sumptuous mouthfeel and deep rich fruit flavours. Enticing and robust with a lengthy sturdy finish. Certified organic. At its best: 2024 to 2034.

This wine was 100% de-stemmed and co-fermented with 3% viognier. Deep-tinted and impressively dense syrah with dark-fleshed plum, dark berry, wood-smoke, black pepper and dried herb flavours. A firmly-structured wine with a backbone of ripe tannins. Approachable now but will reward cellaring. 01 OCT 2021

A bouquet of Marlborough and Syrah with a distinctive and individual varietal signature featuring a sense of place and time. Aromas and flavours of fresh black currant and dark cherry, some raspberry compote and fine savoury toasty sweetness of barrel. There’s a savoury, organic feel to both flavour and texture with a complex set of messages locked in until the wine ages and integrates. Firm tannins and ripe acid line, a core of Syrah flavours with a mild white pepper spice flavour on the finish. Tasted over three days this wine demonstrates is cellar worthiness from the image it presents on day three. Best drinking from late 2022 through 2029+.

29 Nov, 2021 – This has a complex and sultry edge with ripe plums and cherries on offer, as well as dark chocolate, white pepper, hard brown spices and graphite-like, savory notes. Complex. The palate has a bright, fleshy edge and a core of juicy dark-cherry fruit that sits long, elegant and pure. I like the savory, complex style here. From organically grown grapes. Drink over the next six years.
FROMM Syrah 2018
2018 is another vintage that highlights the beauty of cool climate Syrah. Fresh, pure aromas of wild red berries, violets and cracked black pepper, also subtle herbal notes, thyme and lavender.
James Suckling jamessuckling.com--92/100 points
This peppery, medium-bodied red has plenty of brambly dark berries and dark chocolate on the nose. The palate has a smooth, fine and easygoing feel with supple and succulent berry flavors. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
FROMM Syrah 2017
A cool climate Syrah that shows both power and finesse. Opening with bright blue florals and red/blue berries, the aromas then unravel to reveal undertones of graphite minerals and cracked black pepper spice. The palate is effortless with a vibrant richness and a crunchy freshness. The balanced acidity accentuates the wine’s flavour and layered tannins add to the complexity. There’s a restrained power to proceedings here.

There’s a super spicy and white peppery feel to this mid-weight syrah with underlying plums, blackberries and boysenberries, as well as some green pepper at the finish. Sleek, polished tannins. Very fresh. Drink now or hold.
Bob Campbell therealreview.com ---92/100 points-4 StarsElegant and moderately dense syrah with a strong herbal, floral influence waving the cool-climate flag, plus red berry, pepper and spice flavours. A bright, high energy wine with its own distinctive character 2019–2024 17 Apr 2019
Michael Cooper, New Zealand Wines
"Certified organic, the 2017 vintage (4*) was hand-harvested, blended with a splash of Viognier (2 per cent), fermented with indigenous yeasts, and matured for 19 months in French oak barrels (less than 10 per cent new). Fullish in colour, it is a fresh, medium-bodied wine, vividly varietal, with strong, plummy, peppery flavours, gentle acidity and supple tannins. Already enjoyable, it should be at its best 2021+."

FROMM La strada Syrah 2016
Expressive cool climate Syrah showing ripe blue fruit, florals and spice before revealing a textured palate with an elegant, linear finish.
"Very dark, black-hued purple-ruby colour, a little lighter on the rim, youthful in appearance. . This is an open and accessible, plush and poised Syrah with blackberry fruit along with black and white pepper and floral notes on a supple, fine-grained palate." Raymond Chan
