A deliciously fragrant bouquet with wild red flowers and dark cherry, and black berry flesh, tilled soil and an a deep seated earthy mineral quality. Complex and youthful. Delicious on the palate, taut and youthful with firm tannins and decent acid line leading the palate textures, a core of fruit flavours centering on summar warmed cherry flesh, black cirrant and plum. Oak layers in with flavours of dark spice then tannin textures, a quiet sweetness and natural synergy. Still youthful, but harmonising well with best drinking from 2023 through 2030+.

It's gorgeously complex on the nose showing dark berry, thyme, smoked game and warm mushroom aromas. The palate delivers excellent weight and roundness, wonderfully complemented by refined mouthfeel and finely integrated tannins. Structured and harmonious with a persistent engaging finish. At its best: now to 2034. $45.00. www.frommwinery.co.nz. July 2022.

Organic pinot noir in an accessible style with plum, raspberry, fresh herbs, wood-smoke and spicy oak flavours. A high-energy wine with obvious cellaring potential supported by a backbone of fine, drying tannins. 03 MAR 2021

FROMM Pinot Noir Churton Vineyard 2018
This wine has a classic, delicate Pinot colour, bright and transparent, suggesting a wine of finesse and gentle power. It opens up with a range of subtle floral nuances, red raspberry and lavender, also notes of spice, green tea and an earthy minerality. |
This single vineyard wine from Churton’s well-established, east-facing hillside vineyard in the Waihopai Valley, is a pleasing addition to our single vineyard wine family. Opening with elegant dark red fruits, deep graphite minerality and savoury spice. The palate is honest and charming with a fine texture of integrated tannins and pretty fruit. This is all wrapped in a round, delicious finish.

"Very attractive pinot noir with bright cherry, berry and floral (red rose) flavours, together with a suggestion of anise, spice and nutty French oak. A supple, elegant wine that delivers power with subtlety. Sweet fruit on a lengthy finish." Bob Campbell, April 2018
