FROMM Pinot Noir Quarters Vineyard 2017

Michael Cooper, New Zealand Wines
5 Stars

"Certified organic, the rare 2017 vintage (5*) was hand-harvested in the lower Brancott Valley, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and matured in three French oak barriques (yielding a total production of 900 bottles). Full-coloured, it is a classy young red, mouthfilling, rich and finely structured, with dense, berryish, spicy, nutty flavours, complex and persistent. A refined, highly approachable and very harmonious wine, it's already delicious, but likely to be at its best 2021+."

"From a single vineyard in the Lower Brancott. Moderately concentrated pinot noir with dark cherry, plum, berry and a solid influence of toasty (and tasty) oak. A fresh, tangy wine, with a backbone of fine, ripe tannins suggesting good cellaring potential." 11/3/2019 Drink 2019 to 2024
