“We were privileged to be invited to the FRIENDS of Fromm After Work Wine-down in Wellington. It was a wonderful evening, full of fantastic and interesting wine presented by the lovely and knowledgeable Kelly and Adam. Kelly and Adam were friendly and were able to speak about the wine with authority and familiarity. We know and love Fromm wines, but an evening like this, accompanied by lovely food, a great atmosphere and accomplished hosts is a great way to experience anew something delicious and rather special. The friends of Fromm group is a wonderful thing, having given us access to events like this as well as the ability to pre-order a special vintage and for Kelly to help us source something significant for a special event.”.

“We finished one week of hunting and spent our last week in wine country touring vineyards. Fromm vineyard was recommended by our hunting guide and we happened to be just down the highway in a vineyard B&B. The recommendation was well worth the visit in the tasting room and chatting with our host. We sampled the pinots and fell in love with the beautiful fragrance, light cherry and silky-smooth finishes. We had to order some of the special reserve and the local pinot. These are delicious drinking wines and seem very similar to Washington/Oregon finest pinots. Customer service was outstanding with their marketing rep Ms. Kelly Longhurst for helping select the pinots, handling shipping and following up on deliveries to the States. We hope to order 12-24 bottles each year as these are outstanding Pinots and provide one with a truly outstanding selection in your cellar when enjoying wine with friends.”

‘Fromm Estate have been part of our wine journey for many years, from our early days in New Zealand living in Hawkes Bay to now living just over the hill in Nelson. Being in the industry myself I appreciate the quality that comes with all the wines they produce, also the dedication and passion that's needed to craft these exceptional vintages year after year. Our love has always been for the amazing selection of Pinot noir's that come out of the winery but in recent years we've been bowled over by the Malbec that continues to exceed our expectations with every taste. On the white side you can't get a better Pinot Gris on the South Island (always waiting for the release date), and don’t forget the outstanding Chardonnays too that along with the Pinot Noirs we have in our collection will only get better with time. Tie all this together with a wine club that offers a flawless service alongside a down to earth friendly team (Kelly your awesome) that are always willing to offer help and assistance..... ‘

I first started buying FROMM wine about 25 years ago not long after they opened their doors to the public. At the time I was not a fan of pinot noir preferring a cabernet sauvignon, however after tasting a FROMM pinot noir I became an instant fan, put my name on their mailing list and haven’t stopped buying Pinot Noir since.

I now buy “Fromm Vineyard” and “Clayvin Vineyard” pinot noir which I like to cellar, if possible for about 10 years, and I have bought “Brancott Valley” to drink after a much shorter cellaring time. Just recently I opened a 2007 “Fromm Vineyard” pinot noir and that was marvellous, well worth the cellar time. In my humble opinion I consider these pinot noirs among the best you can buy. I also enjoy their “Clayvin Vineyard” chardonnay which I consider a classic wine. For wines that do not require to be put down in the cellar any of their La Strada brands of wine are well worth considering.

A visit to their cellar door is always a pleasure, the staff are great, as is of course, the wine.

Fromm Winery have a “Friends of Fromm Club” which you can become a member of by purchasing a certain amount of wine from them each year. For this you will receive an invite to their wine tasting events which are held annually, this year at Christchurch, Auckland, Wellington and Fromm Winery, Blenheim. You also have the opportunity to pre- order their single vineyard Pinots Noirs in either 750ml or Magnum format.

I purchased this wine (FROMM Malbec Fromm Vineyard 2012) in 2015 while visiting your vineyard on vacation.  At the time I lived in Singapore working for the US Embassy.

We finally opened it on Sep 2nd 2021 to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary and it was amazing!

I vividly remember buying it and even asking the sales lady that helped me when she thought it would be mature.  She said 2023 and I wrote that on the back of the label.  My wife missed my note before she opened it.  Not to worry because, like I said, it was delicious!

This bottle travelled with us from New Zealand to Singapore.  Then from Singapore to California and then from California to where we now live in South Carolina.
