"Very attractive pinot noir with bright cherry, berry and floral (red rose) flavours, together with a suggestion of anise, spice and nutty French oak. A supple, elegant wine that delivers power with subtlety. Sweet fruit on a lengthy finish."

"Even, light ruby-red colour with a little garnet, paler on the rim. The nose is tightly bound with firm and intense aromas of dark-red berry and black cherry fruit intermixed with dark herbs and some black earth minerality, unfolding violet florals and a little pepper. Medium-bodied, the palate is tight and concentrated with good depth and intensity of dark-red berry and black cherry fruit, along with notes of liquorice and spice, dark herbs and black mineral detail, unfolding violet florals. The fruit forms a fine and firm core with considerable fine-grained, powdery tannin extraction with balanced acidity. The flavours carry with very good linearity to a long and sustained finish of liquorice and spices. This is a finely concentrated and firmly packed Pinot Noir with dark-red and black fruits along with herb, liquorice and mineral notes and excellent linearity. Match with roasted game meats and semi-hard cheeses over the next 6-8 years."

"A gorgeous complex offering; the bouquet shows dark cherry, spiced plum, thyme, mixed spice and subtle game characters. The palate delivers lovely weight and roundness, wonderfully complemented by silky texture and fine, chalky tannins. A sophisticated blend of fruit sweetness and deep savoury notes. Waihopai Valley. At its best: 2019 to 2026."
