FROMM Pinot Noir Quarters Vineyard 2017

We’ve been working the Quarters vineyard for well over two decades and noticed a significant development of fruit quality and complexity as the vines have matured. This 2017 single vineyard Pinot Noir shows distinct terroir driven qualities that sets this wine apart from our Fromm, Clayvin and Churton
Vineyard Pinots. Showing ripe, dark red fruit verging on blue, the nose unravels
into aromatic floral nuances & a seductive graphite minerality with the faintest hint of oak spice adding to the bouquet. The palate has lovely fruit weight, layered over broad yet silken tannins. The acidity is balanced, and the wine’s complex
structure will confidently carry it through many a year.

Michael Cooper, New Zealand Wines - 5 Stars
"Certified organic, the rare 2017 vintage (5*) was hand-harvested in the lower Brancott Valley, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and matured in three French oak barriques (yielding a total production of 900 bottles). Full-coloured, it is a classy young red, mouthfilling, rich and finely structured, with dense, berryish, spicy, nutty flavours, complex and persistent. A refined, highly approachable and very harmonious wine, it's already delicious, but likely to be at its best 2021+.

Bob Campbell --- 94/100 points
From a single vineyard in the Lower Brancott. Moderately concentrated pinot noir with dark cherry, plum, berry and a solid influence of toasty (and tasty) oak. A fresh, tangy wine, with a backbone of fine, ripe tannins suggesting good cellaring potential.

FROMM Pinot Noir Quarters Vineyard 2016

This single vineyard wine from the clay influenced soils in the Brancott Valley, has a deeply pitched and attractive nose with ripe dark red and blue fruits, spiced nuances and a warm earthy undertone. The palate is textured and well-structured with good fruit weight, velvety tannins and balanced acidity. There are pure flavours and generosity at play here leading into a long elegant finish.

"This is a mouthfilling Pinot Noir with succulent red berry fruit and subtle notes of herbs and florals with plenty of texture and presence. Match with wild duck and pork over the next 6+ years." Raymond Chan, March 2018
